Calling all pet lovers! The Mustang Chamber Pet Ambassador Contest is here, and we're on the hunt for the most lovable, adorable and charming pets out there. Is your furry friend the cutest, the most loyal, or the most photogenic? Then enter them into our contest and let the world see how amazing they are! And if you can't choose just one pet to nominate, why not sponsor A COUPLE? It's the paw-fect way to show your support. So what are you waiting for? WHAT IS A PET AMBASSADOR?
The Mustang Chamber Pet Ambassador serves as an ambassador of goodwill for Mustang for a period of one year. Any and all pets are welcome to run for this prestigious honor - dogs, cats, pigs, birds, goldfish, etc.
PET ELIGIBILITY
Eligible nominees must meet one of the following criteria:
· Resident of Mustang Public School district
· Be Sponsored by a Chamber Member Business
· Each business may sponsor up to two pets
HERE'S HOW THE CONTEST WILL WORK:
Much like Unlike human elections, the Pet Ambassador election can and will be bought! (Remember, this is a FUNdraiser!) All proceeds benefit the Mustang Chamber of Commerce.
Timeline
Nominations - July 1 - 15th
Online voting - July 16th - 31st
Inauguration Collaring Ceremony - August 6th
Agree to abide by all Mustang Municipal Code requirements pertaining to Animals.
Pet nomination - $25.00 (includes 25 Votes)
Corporate Pet Sponsor - $100.00 (includes 100 votes + Business name will be on the Pet's Photo and Ballot)

Presenting Sponsor - $1,000
Business/Organization Name will be added to the Contest Title (for example, The OU Alumni Association's Mustang Pet Ambassador Contest,); The title will be on all printed and digital materials; The title will be announced at least six Chamber events; logo signage at the Collaring ceremony; logo signage on social media event page; up to a 10 minute business presentation at the Collaring ceremony. Voting results will be updated daily on the Mustang Pet Ambassador Facebook event page until July 31st. Don't let your Pet get out-voted!

Who is a Member of the Chamber?
*If nominated pet does not live in the Mustang Public School district, they can be sponsored by a Chamber Member business. The human spokesperson (pet owner) must obtain permission from the member business before submitting a nomination. All submissions will be verified with the member business by a Chamber Staff member. Reminder...Not all local businesses are Chamber Members. Use the online business directory (Click Here) to verify which businesses are a member of the Chamber. No refunds will be offered for submissions found to be ineligible.
IDEAL QUALITIES
Generally speaking, our ideal Pet Ambassador will…
-Be an upstanding and respectable pet in the community;
-Represent their constituents equally regardless of breed, species, and/or known tricks;
-Be a fierce advocate for small business;
-Have a good temperament (as should their human spokesperson(s));
-Be agreeable to having their photo taken and released by the Chamber;
-Have high ethical character and not be susceptible to bribes, especially in treat form.
PET AMBASSADOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Occasional public appearances throughout the year, especially at events that promote small and locally owned businesses. Owners must sign an agreement with the Mustang Chamber of Commerce.
